What are your hours of operation?
Genesis of Portland's sales department is open from 9am to 7pm Monday through Saturday, and 10am to 5pm on Sunday. Our service department is open from 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday. Our parts department is also open from 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday.
Which Genesis model is best for me?
Excellent question. Make, model, price, mileage, new or pre-owned; all of these factors are determined by your needs. A family car suitable for road trips is a much different thing than a runaround for errands and groceries. Do your vehicles come with a warranty?
All new Genesis models are accompanied by an industry-leading 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, complimentary scheduled maintenance, roadside assistance, and anti-perforation coverage for the original owner. Additionally, every new model comes with a transferable 5-year/60,000-mile limited warranty.
Is maintenance included with my vehicle purchase?
All new vehicles purchased at Genesis of Portland come with complimentary 3-year/36,000-mile maintenance. Additionally, with TonkinCare, all pre-owned vehicles receive two complimentary oil changes (with multi-point inspection, brake inspection and tire rotation) and 24-hour roadside assistance (exclusions may apply). Can I trade in my existing vehicle?

Sales
How do I buy a car?
New or pre-owned, two options exist when purchasing a vehicle:
Buying a car outright means paying the entire cost of the vehicle at the time of purchase “in cash” (though most use a check).
Financing your new ride entails receiving a loan from Genesis of Portland's financing department or other institution (bank, credit union) to pay the cost of the car. You then pay back the loan at an agreed upon annual percentage rate (APR) until the loan is paid and the vehicle is officially yours.

What about leasing?
A car lease represents an agreement between you and Genesis of Portland that allows you to drive one of our vehicles for a certain amount of time and mileage. Like financing a car, you make monthly payments during this agreement, but with a couple of key differences:
Your monthly payments are generally lower than when financing a vehicle, which means you will most likely be able to afford a newer or more expensive car, though only new cars are available to lease. At the end of the lease, you can easily replace it with a new vehicle.
While it may seem like it while driving, the leased vehicle is never truly yours. You must adhere to time and mileage limitations, and be careful to avoid charges for excess wear and tear, though Genesis of Portland offers coverage for the latter.
How much money is due at signing?
That really depends. The basic rule of thumb is this: the more money paid in advance, the less the monthly payment will be. Genesis of Portland's experienced sales and financing staff ask you how much you wish to pay per month and work with you from there. Visit our finance center.
Can I take the car home today?
While we cannot guarantee it, more often than not Genesis of Portland customers receive their keys the same day they purchase their new vehicle.
Is the vehicle I found on your website available?
Very rarely a car pictured on our website has been sold by the time you reach the lot. However, our large inventory means that Genesis of Portland will have an identical or very similar make and model.
What is the total price of the vehicle (taxes and fees included)?
This of course depends on the year, make and model you choose, but at Genesis of Portland, we pride ourselves on providing customers with completely transparent pricing. This means a detailed proposal outlining selling price, trade value, taxes, fees, rebates, money due at signing and monthly payment amounts. Contact our sales team to get started.

What work needs to be done?
When you bring your vehicle to Genesis of Portland for service, you will receive a detailed explanation of the work needed on your car, with no technical expertise required. Our service technicians will provide you with a clear and simple description of what – if anything – is wrong and how to fix it. Schedule an appointment today.
How long is my service going to take?
The answer varies depending on the work being done, but at Genesis of Portland, our service estimates are carefully calculated using past experience and a detailed parts availability database. You will never be here longer than necessary.
How much will my service cost?
In the case of Genesis vehicles within the 3-year/36,000-mile coverage, you need not worry on that front. All other pricing is up front. You will never encounter hidden service fees at Genesis of Portland.
Is my vehicle ready?
Our service department will set up completion notifications to any device you wish. Genesis of Portland can send you messages via email, phone or text to let you know when your vehicle is ready to go.
Are there any recalls on my vehicle?
You can easily find any and all recalls on your vehicle by visiting nhtsa.gov/recalls. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration offers an extensive database of all recalls, searchable by state license plate, VIN number, or year, make and model. Additionally, Genesis of Portland's service scheduler is able to identify any pending recalls with your VIN (vehicle identification number).
